Abstract

Background and Objective: Transcendent leadership is a strategic imperative for educational organizations aiming for long-term effectiveness and ethical competitiveness. This study was conducted with the aim of identifying the outcomes of transcendent leadership in educational organizations, utilizing a synthesis research approach.

Methods: This research employed a qualitative approach with a synthesis research methodology. It was carried out across a corpus of reputable national and international journals from 2010 to 2025. A total of 58 articles were initially selected as the sample, of which 27 articles were ultimately analyzed using the Maxqda software for coding. The authors reported no conflicts of interest.

Findings: The findings of the research, consistent with the synthesis study, revealed that the outcomes of transcendent leadership in educational organizations encompass three overarching themes and thirteen main themes. The overarching themes are: Managerial Implications (organizational performance and productivity, organizational learning and transformation, strategic effectiveness, organizational facilitation, management structure and power), Mediating Implications (empowerment and self-control, positive job attitudes, individual performance and competence), and Final Implications (encompassing workplace spirituality, shared values, values and beliefs, organizational culture, and organizational justice and ethics).

Conclusion: The findings of this study represent the first attempt to systematically integrate the outcomes of transcendent leadership into a comprehensive model within the Iranian educational organizations context. Success in this endeavor necessitates a holistic approach that considers all managerial, individual, and group dimensions of the educational system to achieve spirituality, ethics, and culture.
