Publishing Ethics
Author(s) should be aware of all the publishing ethics of an article and be committed fully to these principles. Nowadays, ethics and ethics charter in developing and producing scientific products have been well developed and principally defined with the assistance of ethics experts in research. Obviously, in the case of non-compliance of the author(s), the Faslnamah-i akhlaq-i pizishkis entitled to take any necessary national and international legal action. Submitting an article by the author(s) constitutes full information, approval and adherence to the ethics of publishing the article. Author(s) and contributors to the journal, including the editor, editorial board, internal manager, editor, and publisher, must adhere to the journal ethics and charter. Violators will be obviously dealt with according to the guidelines for investigating research violations.
Cohesion and coherence of articles
Cohesion and coherence of articles mean to study and write an article by taking a series of good and proper practices, which can include the following:
- Observing honesty in conducting and reporting research
- Being careful in presenting the results and research reports
- Having transparency in expressing conflict of interest or potential conflict of interest
- Protecting human subjects in research
- Protecting animals in research
- Adhering to mutual responsibilities of researchers and their research teams
- Avoiding fabrication, falsification and plagiarism in studying and disseminating the findings
- Refraining from providing sensitive, tasteful, personal, racial, religious, gender and ethnic content
Criteria of authorship of article
The International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) has introduced necessary criteria of authorship of articles, as follows:
- Significant contributions to the conceptualizing and designing the study, collecting, analyzing and interpreting data
- Drafting an article or critically editing it
- Final approval of the version to be released
When submitting their articles to the Faslnamah-i akhlaq-i pizishkis ethics, the author(s) must meet all of the above criteria.
Conflict of interests
Undoubtedly, one of the most controversial aspects that should be considered in any article is the probable conflict of interests that the authors may have in their conclusions. The reader should be able to understand exactly the relationship between the author, future findings, and a company or institution that is directly or indirectly affected by them. In addition, authors should consider the conflict of interests as true support for their study.
It is compulsory to mention conflict of interests in the Faslnamah-i akhlaq-i pizishkis. Any relationships with businesses that have sponsored the study or relationships with businesses that may be interested in the field of study should be mentioned in the conflict of interests section. It is important to note that the authors are responsible for reporting conflict of interests, not the journal editorial team. In short, the author(s) are responsible for the statement of conflict of interests as a means of supporting the credibility of their study.
Ethical standards for publication
To observe the ethical standards of publishing articles, any article submitted to the Faslnamah-i akhlaq-i pizishkis must meet the following conditions:
- The corresponding author responsible for submitting and publishing the article submitted for review should have the consent of all authors.
- All authors should participate in writing of the article, have the authorship criteria, and have a specified contribution.
- Submitted articles must be in the specialized field of the journal and the product of the author or authors research work.
- Articles or any part of it, by no means, be reviewed or published in domestic or foreign journals at the same time.
- Submissions should not have been published in any other journal.
- Papers presented in the form of abstracts in congresses, symposia, domestic and foreign seminars that have been published, can be presented in the form of a full-text article.
- The article should not contain unpublished material from other authors without their consent.
- When using other people's content, the source should be referred to with the complete information of it. Observe the rights of other people in the article through complete citation.
- Referrals include all books, publications, Internet sites and other research used in the article in the reference section.
- The authors are responsible for the accuracy of the content of the articles, and the publication of the article does not mean that it is verified by the journal.
- In studies conducted using clinical trial method, it is necessary to mention the Clinical Trial Registration Number.
- In clinical trial studies conducted in Iran, it is necessary to mention the Iranian Registry of Clinical Trials.
- In articles with human or animal subjects, the code of the Organizational Ethics Committee / Institute should be mentioned in the Ethical Considerations section.
- Measures taken to avoid any danger (whether physical, mental or psychological) that may have been inflicted on subjects should be noted.
- Measures taken to avoid any harm to animal subjects in research should be mentioned.
- Authors must introduce all sponsors of their study.
- The corresponding author may be asked to provide raw data, interviews, questionnaires, and other research instruments, if necessary, in collaboration with the journal.
- When any of the above criteria are not met, the authors must immediately inform the Faslnamah-i akhlaq-i pizishkis so that it can stop publishing.
- Whenever the author notices any errors or inaccuracies in his article, he informs the journal, correct it or withdraws the article.
- The Faslnamah-i akhlaq-i pizishkis is entitled to reject the article which does not follow the above guidelines.
Confidentiality of information
- The confidentiality and anonymity of the information obtained from human subjects in the article should be kept.
- The author(s) should explain in their article how they have complied with the confidentiality of participant information and if they have disclosed the information, they should explain why.
- The personal information of the authors is completely confidential and protected by all persons who have access to it, such as judges, consultants, editors and publishers.
- The article will be in the custody of the magazine until it is published.
- Articles rejected or withdrawn will be removed from the journal's archives after six months and the journal will have no responsibility for them.
Making fair decisions about the articles
- Decisions about articles will be made at any stage regardless of the authors' race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnicity, citizenship, or political philosophy.
- The journal is entitled to reject or accept, edit, summarize or modify received articles. Correcting and summarizing the content is done with the opinion of the authors.
Publication decisions
- The copyright has been complied with the Faslnamah-i akhlaq-i pizishkis, and the rights of individuals have been protected when publishing.
