Abstract

ژن درمانی تکنیکی تجربی است که از ژن‌ها برای درمان یا پیشگیری از بیماری‌ها استفاده می‌کند. در این روش ماده ژنتیکی با کمک یک حامل برای جبران ژن معیوب یا برای تولید یک پروتئین مفید به سلول‌ها وارد می‌شود. گرچه ژن درمانی یک انتخاب امید بخش برای درمان برخی بیماری‌ها می‌باشد این روش پرخطر بوده و هنوز تحت مطالعه می‌باشد تا بی‌خطر بودن و مؤثر بودن آن اثبات شود. ژن درمانی به دو دسته اصلی ژن درمانی سلول‌های سوماتیک و ژرم لاین تقسیم می‌شود. در این میان بخصوص دستکاری ژنتیکی سلول‌های ژرم لاین با اثر بر نسل آینده، همچنین تأثیرات بالینی و اجتماعی، مسائل اخلاقی و بهداشتی عمیقی را به دنبال خواهد داشت که استفاده و نحوه به کارگیری این روش را در آینده تحت تأثیر قرار خواهد داد.
