Predicting Job Satisfaction for Primary Teachers: The Role of the School Atmosphere and Ethical Leadership

Abstract
Background and Aim: Job satisfaction is one of the categories that has been influenced by the environment and leadership style. Therefore, the present study was conducted with the aim of the role of school and moral leadership in job satisfaction of primary teachers in Baharestan.
Materials and Methods: In this descriptive-correlational study, 144 teachers of the second grade of elementary school in District Two of Baharestan in the academic year 2019-2020 were selected by stratified sampling method. The collection tools included the Stove School Atmosphere Questionnaire Ojaghi(1998), the Kalshoven et al.'s Moral Leadership Questionnaire (2011) and Brayfield & Rothe (1951) Job Satisfaction Questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using SPSS software version 22 and Pearson correlation test and multiple regression.
Ethical Considerations: In this study, the verbal consent of the participants was obtained and they were assured about the confidentiality of the information.
Findings: The results showed that the relationship between school organizational climate and moral leadership with job satisfaction was significant (p <0.01). Components of school organizational climate explain 41% and components of moral leadership 36.5% of the variance of job satisfaction.
Conclusion: Improving the school climate and applying ethical leadership style can provide the basis for increasing the job satisfaction of elementary teachers. The results of the study show the importance of education providers in promoting job satisfaction of teachers.
