Abstract
Background and Aim: While the discussion regarding corporate social responsibility has become a hot topic in university forums; what has received less attention is the role of environmental ethics in the formation of social responsibility. Therefore, the current research is carried out to elucidate the role of environmental ethics in realizing the social responsibility of the company.
Methods: This research was conducted as a quantitative survey. The statistical population includes all employees of the administrative department of the Ports and Maritime Organization, from which a sample of 198 people was selected. Data collection was done using a questionnaire and data analysis was done with partial least squares method and Smart PLS 2 software.
Ethical Considerations: In all stages of the research, ethical considerations, including the authenticity of the text, the authenticity of the data, and the satisfaction of the participants, have been observed.
Results: The results obtained in this research show that both dimensions of environmental ethics, including the intrinsic value and the applied value of the environment, have a positive and significant effect on the three dimensions of corporate social responsibility.
Conclusion: This research is among the few researches that highlight the intrinsic value of the environment as a factor that creates organizations' social responsibility.
