Abstract
Background and Aim: Resilience as the ability to successfully adapt to threatening conditions is a well- known concept for success in the nursing profession; in addition, risk management is a tool for improving the quality of medical services in hospitals. Therefore, the present study was conducted with the aim of determining the relationship between hospital risk management and nurses' resilience.
Methods: The present study is a descriptive- analytical cross- sectional study of the correlation type that was conducted in 1400 in selected hospitals of Ahvaz city. According to the total number of the statistical population, 151 nurses were selected using Cochran's formula by convenient sampling method. In addition to ethical considerations such as completing the informed consent form, the data were collected using two standard resilience questionnaires of Connor and Davidson (2003) and hospital risk management questionnaire. Data analysis was done with descriptive (mean, frequency) and inferential (Spearman correlation) statistical tests with SPSS 24 software.
Results: The results of the study showed that the average score of nurses' hospital risk management was 130.68 and nurses' resilience was 91.88. The result of Sperman's correlation test showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between nurses' risk management and resilience (r = 0.405 and p < 0.001).
Conclusion: According to the findings of the study, it can be said that hospital risk management can increase the resilience of nurses. Therefore, by planning in the nursing education curriculum and implementing in- service courses to increase the risk management skills of nurses, it is possible to help improve and promote resilience as a psychological skill in nurses.
