Greek and Egyptian Physicians' Face in Gharabadin-e Salehi

Abstract
Background and Aim: One of the most prominent Qarabadin in medical education is Qarabadin-e Salehi. This research aims to extract and report Greek and Egyptian physicians’ identity from this book.
Methods: In this study, which was conducted by a documentary method and based on lithography press of the Dar al-Sultaneh written in 1866, firstly, Greek and Egyptian physicians of Gharabadin-e Salehi were collected and then reported according to the historical sequence and the frequency of each persion in the book.
Ethical Considerations: All ethical principles, including the authenticity of Qarabadin Salehi's manuscript and the authors' intellectual rights, were considered.
Results: 33 physicians in form of medical, historical, philosophical and scientific figures were found in Gharabadin-e Salehi. The highest frequencies belong to Galen (87 ones), Hippocrates (39 ones) and Aristotle (10 ones) respectively. In some cases, these characters find ritual and religious aspects; As Hermes is matched with Idris, Aghatazimon with Seth and Discoridos with Luqman.
Conclusion: Considering the Personal identity and national and social affiliations mentioned in Gharabadin-e Salehi and their frequencies can help to better understand the medical records throughout history and their interpretation.
