Abstract
Background and Aim: One of the periods of development and advancement of medical and pharmacological knowledge in Iran was the period from Al-e-Bouyeh until the end of Ilkhanid (322-736 AH). In this period, Fars province was one of the main centers for the production of some medicinal herbal oils. This research aims to investigate the position of Fars province in supplying medicinal herbal oils from Al-e-Bouyeh to the end of Ilkhanid period.
Methods: In this research, using a descriptive-analytical approach, library information were collected from historical, geographical and medical history sources and analyzed to achieve the desired goals.
Ethical Considerations: In the current research, the authenticity of the texts, honesty and trustworthiness have been observed.
Results: In Al-e-Bouyeh until the end of Ilkhanid, the use of herbal oils to treat many diseases was common. During this period, due to the vastness and variety of climate, Fars was the place where many plants grew, from which various medicinal oils were prepared and exported to other parts of Iran and the word.
Conclusion: During the Al-e-Bouyeh until the end of Ilkhani period in Fars, various medicinal herbal oils such as Rose, Narcissus, Jasmine, Violet, Kadi, etc. were produced. The cities of Shiraz, Shapour, Kazeroun and Firoozabad were the main centers of production of medicinal herbal oils in Fars.
