The Impact of Professional Ethics on Social Responsibility with the Mediating Role of Organizational Socialization among Urmia University Staff

Abstract
Background and Aim: Today, due to the complexity and competitive nature of workplaces, a successful organization is one which has a more committed and responsible workforce. In organizations, there are factors that make employees more accountable, this phenomenon is called social responsibility. Given the importance of social responsibility as a very important variable in organizations; the purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of professional ethics on employees' social responsibility with the mediating role of organizational socialization.
Materials and Methods: This research is considered practical in terms of purpose and descriptive-procedural in terms of implementation method. The statistical population of the study consisted of all 600 employees of Urmia University. 234 people were selected as the sample using a stratified random sampling method and the morgan table. In order to collect statistical data, the standard professional ethics questionnaires Kadozir (2003), Social responsibility of Carol (2000) and the organizational socialization Taurmina (2009) were used. Data were analyzed using SPSS 16 software, mean methods, standard deviation, Pearson correlation coefficient, Skewness and stretching and LISREL 8.80 software.
Findings: The results of the research show that professional ethics has a direct effect of (β=0.41) on social responsibility and of (β=0.90, P≤0.01) on organizational socialization. Also, organizational socialization has a direct effect of (β=0.46, P≤0.01) on social responsibility and the indirect effect of professional ethics on social responsibility is (β=0.41, P≤0.01).
Ethical Considerations: Participants completed the questionnaires after being informed of the research objectives.
Conclusion: Based on the results of research, professional ethics and organizational socialization have a direct effect on social responsibility. Therefore, it can be concluded that professional ethics and organizational socialization may be taken into account as one of the important factors on social responsibility.
