Primary Repository: All published works are hosted on the journal’s central platform, managed by Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences via the Open Journal Systems (OJS). We implement rigorous, automated backup protocols to maintain the primary version of record.
Global Digital Preservation Partners: To safeguard against institutional risks, AAB integrates its content into world-class, decentralized archiving networks, including:
LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe): A decentralized system that facilitates distributed archiving through a global network of libraries.
CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS): A premier, non-profit multi-institutional dark archive that ensures content remains accessible to the global community even in the event of journal cessation.
PKP PN (Public Knowledge Project Preservation Network): An automated service providing an additional layer of distributed, ongoing access specifically for OJS-based publications.
Guaranteed Access
In the unlikely event that AAB ceases publication, our protocols mandate that all digital assets be transferred to a trusted permanent custodian (such as CLOCKSS) to ensure the continuity of access for the global scientific community.
Author Empowerment & Persistent Linking
Self-Archiving: We actively encourage authors to deposit the final Version of Record into their respective institutional or subject-specific repositories, in alignment with our Repository Policy.
DOI Integration: Every article is assigned a unique Digital Object Identifier (DOI). This establishes a permanent, resolvable link to the research, ensuring seamless citability and reliable access regardless of future changes in web architecture.
