Publication and Author Responsibilities
Peer review/responsibility for the reviewers
Submitted articles are primarily evaluated by our statisticians who check the articles for any methodological flaws, format, and compliance with the Journal’s instructions. Through a single-blind review, the articles will be reviewed by at least two external (peer) reviewers. Their comments will be given to the authors and their responses to the comments along with the reviewers’ comments will then be evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief and a final reviewer who can be a member of the Editorial Board. The final review process will be discussed in regular editorial board sessions and on the basis of the comments, and the Journal’s standards, the Editor-in-Chief will decide which articles should be published. Reviewers have the following responsibilities:

Issues on Publishing Ethics
The Journal of Safety Promotion and Injury Prevention (JSPIP) complies with the international regulations against scientific misconduct (fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism, etc.). Any suspected act of misconduct in the submitted materials to the journal will be meticulously assessed and the needful action will be taken based on the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
The Editor-in-Chief is always willing to publish corrections.
The JSPIP asks authors to be careful about using others’ words, ideas, and materials and fully cite any sources of the contents of their submitted papers if they are not original. Text extracted from other sources should be supported by reference citations, in quotation marks, or be appropriately paraphrased.
Data falsification/fabrication: Falsification is the practice of omitting or altering research materials, data, or processes so that the results of the research are no longer accurately reflected. Fabrication is the practice of inventing data or results and reporting them in the research. Both of these misconducts are fraudulent and seriously alter the integrity of research. Therefore, articles must be written based on original data and use of falsified or fabricated data is strongly prohibited.
Image manipulation: The JSPIP encourages authors to send their original images. All digital images in manuscripts accepted for publication will be checked for inappropriate manipulation. No specific feature within an image may be enhanced, obscured, moved, removed, or introduced. Adjustments of brightness, contrast, or color balance are acceptable as long as they are applied to the entire image and do not misrepresent any information present in the original, including the background. The editor will request the original data from the authors to compare the manipulated figures in cases suspected of inappropriate manipulation.
Plagiarism: Submission of a paper implies that it reports unpublished work and that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. If previously published tables, illustrations, or text are to be included, then this should be clearly indicated in the manuscript and the copyright holder's permission must be obtained. Previously published material can be cited in a later review or commentary article, but it must be indicated using quotation marks if necessary.
Plagiarism of text from a previously published manuscript by the same or another author is a serious publication offense. Small amounts of text may be used, but only where the source of the material quoted is clearly acknowledged. Fraudulent data or data stolen from other authors is also unethical and will be treated accordingly. Any alleged offense is considered initially by the Editorial Team.
Copyright: The Iranian Society of Pediatric Nephrology is the copyright owner of the material published in the JSPIP. However, all published works are open-access and are immediately available without cost to anyone on the journal’s website. The users are free to use of the work, subject to proper attribution of authorship and ownership of the rights. Authors may use their material in presentations and subsequent publications they write or edit themselves, provided that the JSPIP is notified in writing and is acknowledged as the original publication.
Retraction
Based on the COPE guidelines, JSPIP will consider retracting a publication if:
