About the Journal

The "Journal of Ophthalmic and Optometric Sciences (JOOS)" is a quarterly open-access, peer-reviewed scientific journal. It is published by the Basir Eye Health Research Center in collaboration with Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, Iran. The primary goal of JOOS is to advance the field of ophthalmologic and optometric research and foster collaboration between Iranian researchers and scientists worldwide.

JOOS publishes both print and online versions of the journal and accepts high-quality manuscripts that cover various aspects of ophthalmic and optometric disorders. These include topics such as diagnosis, treatment, epidemiology, etiology, biology, molecular aspects, and clinical genetics of these diseases.

Manuscripts focusing on the history of modern ophthalmology and optometry in Iran, the contributions of notable scientists to its progress, and the advancements in the ophthalmic care system over the past decades are particularly valued by JOOS. By publishing such articles, the journal aims to document and celebrate the development of ophthalmology and optometry in Iran.

As an open-access journal, JOOS ensures that its content is freely accessible to readers worldwide, which facilitates the dissemination of research findings and promotes the advancement of knowledge in the field of ophthalmic and optometric sciences.
