Article Withdrawal & Retraction Policy

Author-Initiated Withdrawal

Authors are permitted to withdraw their manuscript prior to the initiation of peer review or during the revision stage (when comments from the peer-review round are returned to the authors for minor or major revisions).

Withdrawal is strictly prohibited while a manuscript is actively undergoing peer review, unless the duration of the current review round exceeds the journal’s stated maximum timeframe (6 weeks). To withdraw a paper, the corresponding author must submit a formal, signed withdrawal letter to the editorial office via email, explicitly stating the valid reasons for withdrawal.

Journal-Initiated Withdrawal & Retraction

International Pharmacy Acta (IPA) reserves the right to withdraw or retract a manuscript or published article under circumstances that constitute a breach of professional and publication ethics. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Multiple or concurrent submissions to other journals.
  • Bogus or ghost claims of authorship.
  • Plagiarism, data fabrication, or falsification.
  • Significant scientific errors or ethical violations that undermine the validity of the work.

In such cases, the editorial board, under the guidance of the Editor-in-Chief and in compliance with COPE standards, will issue a formal retraction notice or administrative withdrawal, ensuring full transparency within the scholarly record.
