چکیده
تغذیه انحصاری با شیر مادر یکی از مؤثرترین، ایمنترین و مقرونبهصرفهترین مداخلات سلامت عمومی برای ارتقای بقا، رشد، تکامل و سلامت مادامالعمر کودکان محسوب میشود. شواهد علمی نشان میدهد که هزار روز نخست زندگی، دورهای سرنوشتساز در برنامهریزی زیستی سلامت انسان است و شیر مادر، به دلیل برخورداری از ترکیبات تغذیهای و ایمنیشناختی منحصربهفرد، نقشی اساسی در کاهش مرگومیر شیرخواران، پیشگیری از بیماریهای عفونی و مزمن، تکامل سیستم ایمنی، رشد شناختی و بهبود عملکرد عصبی ایفا میکند. افزون بر این، شیردهی با کاهش خطر ابتلا به سرطان پستان و تخمدان، بیماریهای قلبیعروقی، دیابت نوع ۲ و سایر اختلالات متابولیک، سلامت مادران را نیز بهطور قابلتوجهی ارتقا میدهد. در کنار مزایای زیستی، شیردهی موجب تقویت پیوند عاطفی مادر و کودک، ارتقای سلامت روان، کاهش هزینههای نظام سلامت و حمایت از توسعه پایدار از طریق کاهش مصرف منابع و آثار زیستمحیطی میشود. با وجود این شواهد مستحکم، استمرار تغذیه انحصاری با شیر مادر همچنان با چالشهای اجتماعی، فرهنگی، شغلی و ساختاری روبهرو است. ازاینرو، تحقق اهداف جهانی در زمینه تغذیه شیرخواران مستلزم اتخاذ سیاستهای جامع، حمایتهای قانونی از مادران شیرده، ایجاد محیطهای دوستدار شیردهی در جامعه و محیطهای کاری، و ارتقای آگاهی عمومی است. این سخن سردبیر با تأکید بر رویکردی مبتنی بر شواهد، تغذیه انحصاری با شیر مادر را نهتنها یک انتخاب تغذیهای، بلکه راهبردی مؤثر برای ارتقای ایمنی، سلامت نسل آینده و توسعه پایدار نظام سلامت معرفی میکند.
