Aims:

  2. To provide a platform for systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and policy briefs that synthesize evidence for action.
  3. To encourage methodological innovation in social epidemiology, health policy research, and community-based participatory research.
  4. To foster critical debate and dialogue on theoretical and ethical issues related to health equity and social justice.
  5. To disseminate research that has clear implications for reducing health inequities at local, national, and global levels.

 

Scope:

The journal welcomes submissions from a wide range of disciplines, including public health, epidemiology, sociology, anthropology, economics, political science, geography, urban planning, environmental health, and health policy. We are particularly interested in research that examines:

 

- The mechanisms through which social determinants operate to produce health inequities

- The intersection of social determinants with biological and behavioral pathways

- The effectiveness of policies and interventions targeting social determinants

- Comparative studies across different countries and contexts

- Community-engaged and participatory research approaches
