Focus and Scope
Archives of Men’s Health (AMH) is a continuously updating, peer-reviewed scientific journal dedicated to publishing high-quality research on all aspects of men’s health and illness. Our mission is to advance multidisciplinary understanding through original research, clinical studies, theoretical articles, and evidence-based reviews.
We welcome contributions from various disciplines relevant to men’s health, including but not limited to:

Peer Review Process
All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment. Submissions deemed suitable are subject to double-blind peer review by a minimum of two independent reviewers. The review process follows the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and COPE guidelines and aims for a decision within four weeks. Revisions should be submitted within two weeks of receiving reviewer feedback.
The identity of authors and reviewers is kept strictly confidential throughout the process. Manuscripts under review or consideration are not disclosed to anyone outside the editorial team.
Submission Guidelines
Authors must submit:
1. Title Page: Including article title, full author names and affiliations, and contact information of the corresponding author (email, phone, postal address).
2. Main Manuscript File: Prepared according to international reporting standards (see below) and including the following sections: abstract, main text, acknowledgments, funding, authors’ contributions, conflict of interest, references, tables, and figures.
All clinical trials must be registered with a WHO-approved registry (e.g., ClinicalTrials.gov or Iranian Registry of Clinical Trials - IRCT).
Standard Reporting Guidelines
Authors must comply with established reporting standards, including:

Manuscript Formatting
• Language: English
• File format: Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx)
• Line spacing: Double-spaced
• Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides
• Units: SI Units required
• Keywords: 3–5 MeSH terms after the abstract
• Reference style: Vancouver style (ICMJE format), numbered consecutively in-text using Arabic numerals in parentheses
When listing authors:
• List all authors if six or fewer
• If more than six, list the first three followed by “et al.”
Section-Specific Requirements
1. Observational Studies
Structured Abstract (≤350 words), Main Text (≤3500 words). Sections: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion.
2. Clinical Trials
Follow CONSORT, including a flow diagram. Registration number must be included.
3. Review Articles
Unstructured Abstract. Authorship should reflect expertise in the field. Systematic reviews must follow PRISMA or MOOSE.
4. Case Reports
CARE-compliant. Abstract (≤200 words), Main Text (≤1000 words), no structured headings required.
5. Brief Reports
Abstract (≤200 words, unstructured), Text (≤2000 words), Max 2 figures/tables, and 15 references. No section headings.
6. Letters to the Editor
≤700 words. May address recently published articles or include limited original research.
7. Photo Quiz
Up to 1500 words, max 6 images, ≤10 references. Include imaging, brief case summary, diagnostic question, answer, and discussion.
Plagiarism and AI-Generated Content
Plagiarism Policy
AMH enforces a zero-tolerance policy for plagiarism. All submissions are screened using reliable plagiarism detection software. Any form of content duplication, self-plagiarism, or data fabrication will result in immediate rejection and may be reported to the author’s institution in accordance with COPE guidelines.
Use of Artificial Intelligence
Authors must disclose the use of AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot) in manuscript writing, image generation, data analysis, or any other component of the research. AI-generated content must be critically reviewed and verified by human authors. AI tools cannot be credited as authors.
Ethical Standards and Research Integrity
• Human Subjects: Ethics committee approval and informed consent are required and must be clearly stated.
• Animal Studies: Must comply with NIH and institutional animal care standards.
• Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose all financial or non-financial competing interests.
• Authorship: Follows ICMJE criteria. Authorship changes after submission require consent from all co-authors and a written explanation.
AMH adheres to COPE principles and takes misconduct (fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, duplicate submission) seriously.
Figures and Tables
Include all figures and tables after the references in the manuscript file. Each must be numbered and titled. Legends (max 60 words) should appear on a separate page. Keep the use of figures and tables to what is necessary for the clarity of the manuscript.
Publication Charges
Archives of Men’s Health (AMH) is a fully open-access journal with no submission fees and no article processing charges (APCs). Publishing in AMH is completely free of charge for all authors.
Editorial Independence
All editorial decisions are made independently by the Editor-in-Chief without influence from institutional or commercial sponsors (Men’s Health & Reproductive Health Research Center, Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences).
