Publication Ethics
Introduction
The “Journal of Otorhinolaryngology and Facial Plastic Surgery” is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics to ensure the integrity, credibility, and transparency of scholarly research. As a responsible member of the academic community, our journal strictly adheres to the “Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines” and follows best practices in ethical publishing.
By maintaining rigorous ethical standards, we aim to foster trust within the scientific community and contribute to the advancement of otorhinolaryngology and facial plastic surgery research.
We expect all contributors (authors, reviewers, editors, and publishers) to comply with these ethical principles, which include but are not limited to:
Originality & Plagiarism Prevention:
- Submissions must represent original work, with proper attribution to all referenced sources. So, Authors must ensure that the submitted manuscript is completely original and unpublished.
- Using others' work (text, data, or images) is only permitted with proper citation and attribution.
- Plagiarism (copying without acknowledgment) is considered misconduct and will be handled according to the journal’s policies.
- Plagiarism, data fabrication, or falsification will result in immediate rejection and potential sanctions.
Authorship & Contributorship:
All listed authors must have made significant intellectual contributions to the research. Ghost, guest, or honorary authorship is strictly prohibited.

Conflicts of Interest Disclosure:
Authors must declare any financial, institutional, or personal conflicts that could influence the research or its interpretation. This must be declared at the end of the manuscript, under the heading "Conflicts of Interest".
Fair & Constructive Peer Review:
- Reviewers must provide unbiased, objective evaluations and maintain confidentiality throughout the process.
Editorial Integrity:
- Editors ensure fair and transparent decision-making, free from commercial or personal bias.
Corrections & Retractions:
- In cases of ethical violations or significant errors, the journal will take prompt corrective action in accordance with COPE guidelines.
Duplicate Submission
- Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously is “unethical” and will lead to rejection if discovered.
- Authors should wait for a final decision from one journal before submitting elsewhere.
Data Accuracy and Fabrication
- Data and results must be “truthful and not manipulated”.
- Any errors or inaccuracies must be reported to the editor immediately.
Ethical Principles for Reviewers
Impartiality and Confidentiality
- Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts “objectively and without bias”.
- Manuscript details must remain “confidential” and not be used for personal gain.
Expertise and Rigor
- Reviewers should only assess manuscripts within their “area of expertise”.
Handling Ethical Violations:
If misconduct is reported, the journal follows “COPE guidelines”, including:
- Reviewing evidence;
- Allowing the author to respond;
- Correcting, rejecting, or retracting the paper if misconduct is proven.
- Critiques should be “evidence-based, clear, and constructive”.
Ethical Principles for Editorial Board
Fair Decision-Making:
Our Editorial Board base decisions “solely on academic merit”, without regard to race, gender, or institutional affiliation.
Privacy Protection:
The identities of authors and reviewers remain “confidential”.
Handling Misconduct:
If misconduct (e.g., plagiarism or data falsification) is reported, our Editorial Board will conduct a thorough investigation and take appropriate action.
