Journal Policy on Pre-Published Manuscripts (Preprints)

The “Journal of Otorhinolaryngology and Facial Plastic Surgery” accepts submissions that have been previously published as preprints to facilitate rapid knowledge dissemination.

Authors must adhere to the following conditions:

Preprint Acceptance Criteria:

  1. Preprint Disclosure:
    • Authors must declare all related preprint versions (e.g., on arXiv, ResearchGate, SSRN, bioRxiv) in the "Publication History" section upon submission.
    • Provide direct links to all preprint versions.
  2. Copyright Compliance:
    • The preprint must not be simultaneously under review at another journal.
  3. Substantive Improvements:
    • The submitted version must contain significant modifications (e.g., expanded analyses, new data, or substantial revisions).
    • Submissions without meaningful changes from the preprint version may be rejected.
  4. Citation Requirement:
    • If accepted, authors must cite the original preprint in the final publication.

Prohibited Practices:

  • Simultaneous submission to multiple journals (even as preprints);
  • Posting preprints after peer-review without editorial approval;

Post-Acceptance:

  • Authors may update their preprints with links to the published version.
  • The journal may deposit the final version in preprint repositories.
