Preprints and Repository Policy
The Regeneration, Reconstruction & Restoration (Triple R) Journal supports the rapid and open sharing of research and encourages authors to utilize preprint servers and institutional repositories. This policy outlines the conditions under which different versions of a manuscript may be shared publicly.
1- Definitions
-Preprint: A draft version of a research paper made available online via a recognized preprint server (e.g., medRxiv, bioRxiv, arXiv, Research Square) before undergoing formal peer review.
-Author’s Accepted Manuscript (AAM) / Postprint: The version accepted for publication after peer review and revision, but before final copyediting, typesetting, and proofing by the publisher.
-Version of Record (VoR): The final, published, typeset, and paginated version as it appears on the Regeneration, Reconstruction & Restoration (Triple R) Journal website.
2- Policy on Preprint Servers
-Submission: The Journal accepts submissions that have been posted on non-commercial, recognized preprint servers. Posting a manuscript as a preprint does not constitute "prior publication" and does not disqualify it from consideration.
-Disclosure: Authors must declare the existence of any preprint version upon submission. The DOI and URL of the preprint must be provided in the cover letter and the acknowledgments section.
-Integrity: We only consider preprints that have not undergone formal peer review at another journal. Posting a preprint does not influence our independent, rigorous peer-review process.
-Revisions: Authors are free to revise preprints. If substantial changes are made during the journal’s review process, they should be disclosed according to our submission guidelines.
-Post-Acceptance Linking: If accepted, authors are required to update the preprint record to include a direct link to the published article (VoR) using its DOI. The preprint must clearly state: "This article has been peer-reviewed and published in the Regeneration, Reconstruction & Restoration (Triple R) Journal."
3- Policy on Institutional and Subject Repositories
-AAM: Authors may deposit their Accepted Manuscript in an institutional repository immediately upon publication of the Version of Record. No embargo period is applied.
-VoR: The Version of Record may be deposited immediately in an institutional repository. Authors must use the “CC BY-NC-SA 4.0” license and provide a full citation with a link to the article on the Journal’s website.
4- Licensing, Rights, and Ethics
-Copyright: Authors should retain copyright ownership of their work when posting to a preprint server. Authors are responsible for ensuring their chosen license (e.g., CC-BY, CC-BY-NC) does not conflict with the Journal’s publication agreement.
-Ethical Standards: Authors must comply with ethical standards, including proper attribution, transparency in authorship, and adherence to research ethics when posting preprints.
-Citation: We encourage researchers to cite preprints properly. The Journal will assign a new DOI to the final article, and we support CrossRef’s standards for linking preprints to the final VoR.
5- Recommended Preprint Servers:
-medRxiv (https://www.medrxiv.org): Suitable for research in medical and dental sciences.
-arXiv (https://arxiv.org/): Suitable for computer science and technology in dentistry.
-Research Square (https://www.researchsquare.com): Suitable for various fields, including medical and dental sciences.
