This policy clarifies the ownership and rights associated with copyright for all content published in Regeneration, Reconstruction & Restoration (Triple R). It is distinct from our licensing policy, which governs how others may use published articles.

Copyright Retention

In the interest of promoting academic freedom and author control over their work, Triple R operates under a policy of author copyright retention. Upon acceptance for publication, authors retain the copyright for their scholarly work.

Grant of Publishing Rights

By submitting a manuscript to Triple R, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive license to publish, reproduce, distribute, display, and store the article in all forms and media for the legal duration of the copyright (right of first publication). This includes the right to administer permissions for reprints and translations and to authorize the article for inclusion in any indexing or abstracting service.

Authors also grant the journal the right to act on their behalf to defend the copyright against infringement and to maintain the integrity of the published work. Furthermore, the authors grant any third party the right to use the article non-commercially in accordance with the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike (CC BY-NC-SA) license.

Author Reuse of Copyrighted Material

As the copyright holder, authors have full rights to:

  • Reuse all or part of the article in future works, including compilations, theses, and books.
  • Reproduce the article for teaching and conference presentations.
  • Deposit the final published PDF (Version of Record) on personal websites or institutional repositories, provided that a full citation and link to the original publication on the Triple R website are included.

This policy is formulated in accordance with standard practices recommended by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).
