ویروس نوظهور نیپا، امکان پاندمی جدید

Abstract

ویروس نیپا، ویروسی نوظهور از خانواده­ی پارامیسکوویروس­ها بوده که براساس اعلام اخیر سازمان بهداشت جهانی، جزو فهرست  نه تایی از مرگبارترین عوامل بیماری­زای عفونی معرفی شده است. خفاش­ها به عنوان میزبان طبیعی این ویروس در نظر گرفته شده­اند. انتقال ویروس می­تواند از طریق تماس با حیوانات یا افراد انسانی آلوده و حتی مصرف غذاهای آلوده به ادرار و بزاق آنها صورت گیرد. دوره­ی کمون ابتلاء به ویروس بین 4 روز تا دو ماه متغیر است. ویروس نیپا قادر است دستگاههای متعدد بدن انسان  و اندام­های  قلب، کلیه، ریه­ها و مغز را آلوده کند. علایم بالینی عفونت ویروس متغیر بوده و می­تواند شامل طیفی از علایم ضعیف ازجمله سرگیجه، استفراغ، سردرد، تب تا علایم کشنده اختلالات تنفسی وآسیب های عصبی آنسفالیت کشنده حاد و مزمن و حتی اختلالات شناختی- روانی ­باشد، اگرچه سیستم عصبی مرکزی شدیدترین آسیب را نسبت به سایر دستگاههای بدن می­بیند. بیماری­زایی و مرگ­و میر بالای  عفونت ویروس نیپا، عدم وجود واکسن و روش­ درمانی مؤثر تاییدشده و مجاز علیه آن و نگرانی از جهش­هایی مخرب در ویروس و تکرار فاجعه­ای دیگر مانند ویروس کرونا، اهمیت تحقیقات در باره این ویروس و مدیریت و کنترل انتشار آن را نشان می­دهد.
