Journal of Medical Library and Information Science update its standard licensing policy to promote broader dissemination and reusability of published research. Effective 1 Aug 2025, all articles newly published in our journal will be licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) License.
This change from our previous CC BY-NC-ND license means that while commercial use of the content remains restricted, the removal of the "NoDerivatives" (ND) clause now permits greater flexibility. Users are free to adapt, remix, translate, and build upon the published material, provided proper attribution is given to the original authors and our journal. This updated policy aims to enhance the impact and discoverability of research by allowing for more dynamic engagement with the content, fostering collaboration, and supporting innovative uses like text and data mining. Authors retain copyright of their work under these terms.
