International Journal of Applied Behavioral Sciences (IJABS) is an international, peer-reviewed, open access quarterly journal published by the Behavioral Sciences Research Center of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences (SBMU), Tehran, Iran. The journal was established in 2014. The journal publishes original research that advances the understanding, assessment, prevention, and treatment of psychological and behavioral problems, and that supports the application of behavioral science in health and clinical practice.
The journal aims to provide a forum for high-quality research in psychology and behavioral health and to promote the exchange of knowledge among researchers, clinicians, and policymakers. The journal welcomes original articles, reviews, brief reports, and letters to the editor in all areas related to psychology and behavioral health, including:
Manuscripts are evaluated on the basis of their scientific merit, originality, methodological rigor, and relevance, regardless of the authors’ nationality or affiliation. Authors should read the Author Guidelines before submitting.
All submissions are screened for scope, completeness, and plagiarism, and are then evaluated by at least two independent experts in a double-blind process. The editor-in-chief makes the final decision. The journal follows the COPE Core Practices and the recommendations of the ICMJE. Details are given on the Ethical Considerations page.
The journal provides immediate open access to all its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. There are no fees for authors or readers. Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
Authors retain the copyright of their articles and grant the journal a non-exclusive license to publish them. Any use of the articles is permitted provided that the original work is properly cited, in accordance with the CC BY 4.0 license. See the Copyright and Open Access Policy for details.
The journal is owned and financially supported by the Behavioral Sciences Research Center of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences. The sponsor has no role in the editorial decisions or in the peer review process.
The journal is currently indexed in the Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC), Magiran, and Iran Journal. The journal’s articles are also searchable through Google Scholar.
The journal uses the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), which is based on the LOCKSS system, to create a distributed archive of its content for long-term preservation and restoration.
