The Journal of Dental School (JDS) was first published in 1967, thanks to the dedicated efforts of Professor Aliakbar Bahraman, then Dean of the School. His vision was to disseminate the research and knowledge of Iranian dental scholars internationally. After a temporary pause following the Islamic Revolution in 1979, the journal resumed in March 1984, quickly establishing itself as a prominent national dental publication, with a focus on showcasing Iranian research.
In 2012, JDS transitioned its publishing language from Persian to English to reach a broader audience. Since 2013, the journal has exclusively published articles online, discontinuing its print editions. The journal has been published quarterly since its inception, prioritizing original research contributions. JDS is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal.
Published by Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, JDS aims to advance knowledge in dental sciences both nationally and internationally. It publishes original research articles, case reports, case series, and systematic reviews in dentistry and related fields.
