خلفية البحث وأهدافه: تعتبر علاقات ماقبل الزواج بين البنين والبنات واحدة من القضايا المهمة في مجتمعنا الحاضر والتي يمكن أن تؤثر بشكل كبير على صحة الشباب. ومن جانب آخر فإن للدين ومراقبة الذات اهمية بالغة في معالجة مشاكل الصحة العقلية. ونظرا لأهمية هذه القضايا قامت هذه الدراسة بهدف تحديد العلاقة بين مراقبة الذات والتوجيه الديني مع النظرة الى علاقات ماقبل الزواج.
منهجية البحث: في هذه الدراسة التي جرت بمنهج تضامني تم اختيار 357 طالبا بطريقة أخذ العينة الطبقية. ثم طلب منهم ان يملأوا اوراق استبانة تانجي لمراقبة الذات واستبانة البورت للتوجيه الديني واستبانة مواقف علاقات ماقبل الزواج مع الجنس الآخر. تم تحليل المعطيات عن طريق اختبار بيرسون التضامني واختبار رغريسون المتعددة الجوانب. تمت مراعاة جميع الموارد الاخلاقية في هذا البحث واضافة الى هذا فإن مؤلفي المقالة لم يشيروا الى تضارب المصالح.
الكشوفات: اظهرت النتائج ان هناك علاقة ذات دلالة احصائية بين مراقبة الذات والتوجيه الديني الداخلي(r= 0/148) ، مراقبة الذات والتوجيه الديني الخارجي (r= -0/153)، مراقبة الذات والنظرة الى العلاقة ماقبل الزواج (r= -0/107)، التوجيه الديني الداخلي والنظرة الى علاقة ماقبل الزواج(r= -0/174) وأیضاً التوجيه الديني الخارجي والنظرة الى علاقة ماقبل الزواج(r= 0/197) في الطلاب الجامعيين.
النتیجة: إن التوجيه الديني ومراقبة الذات من العوامل المؤثرة في نظرة الأفراد الى علاقة ماقبل الزواج مع الجنس الآخر. يمكن توقع نظرتهم الى هذه القضية من خلال دراسة التوجيه الديني ومراقبة الذات.
