  • It is mandatory to submit all author's name and email in full text of manuscript

  • Add 3-5 keywords, checked with MeSH.

     

  • Ethical guidelines: 

    Ethical considerations must be addressed in the Materials & Methods section.

    1) Please state that informed consent was obtained from all human adult participants and from the parents or legal guardians of minors. Include the name of the appropriate institutional review board that approved the project.

    2)Indicate in the text that the maintenance and care of experimental animals complies with National Institutes of Health guidelines for the human use of laboratory animals, or those of your Institute or agency.

  • Tables should uplaod separetely as an supplementary files, also legends and deiscription of tables should add in the article. (No more than 6 Table)

  • Figures and images shoud add in JPEG format, with high quality resolution at least:300 dpi

  • Abbreviations. Avoid using them in the title and abstract. The full term for which an abbreviation stands should be proceed its first use in the text unless it is standard unit if measurement.
  • There has not any plagiarism, etc compatible with COPE.

    Also pls mention Ethic Committee decision in Manuscript.

    All contributors who do not meet the criteria for authorship should be covered in acknowledgment section. It should include persons who provide technical help, writing assistance and departmental head who only provided general support. Financial and material support should also be acknowledged.

    References are enough and up to date( for original study between 10-30, for case report :not more than 10 references, for Review article at least 30 references)

    • Manuscript publishing in this journal is free of charge. Since a manuscript has been accepted and it needs the English editing, the corresponding author should pay the editing fee to Publisher of our journal for this processing . Articles which have native Speakers Authors  and approved by Iranian Journal of Child Neurology Office for publishing, do not need this payment.

The Iranian Journal of Child Neurology welcomes clinical investigative articles from all over the world. Papers submitted to this journal must not be published or under consideration/submitted for publication elsewhere. The manuscript should be an original word (clinical or research) or a thorough review by an authoritative person in pertinent field.




The “Iranian Journal of Child Neurology “ is the official scientific quarterly publication of the Shahid Beheshti Medical University.


This journal accepts Original papers, Review article, Case reports in the field of Neurology, Child Neurology, Child Psychiatry, Neuroscience, Neuro-pharmacology, Neuro-imaging, Physical Medicine, Physiotherapy, occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Neuro- Developmental Delay.


The material must be presented in short, interesting and  well-thought-out  sentences  and  paragraphs. Generic names instead of trade names must be used for medication, and only standard abbreviations may be used.


Manuscripts should be typed double spaced with appropriate subheadings used to designate different sections in the following order: title page, abstract, Text, references, tables and figure legends. Papers should be typed double-spaced in a letter quality typeface (not dot matrix) on 21 by 29.7cm (A4) paper with a margin of at least 2 cm and the original should be sent along with three clean copies. Length should not exceed 12 double- spaced typed pages with 6 illustrations. A copy of the article containing all figures, tables and pictures must be sent by Electronic mail:IJCN.journal@sbmu.ac.ir and with the paper in order for it to be considered for publication. The paper must be prepared using Microsoft Word.


In case of Electronic Mail of the manuscript the author must declare that it is being exclusively contributed to Iranian Journal of Child Neurology. The text should be submitted in Microsoft World format as an attachment. The figures should be sent in a format of JPEG or GIF which will produce high quality images in the online edition of the journal. Prior to submission, manuscripts papered by authors whose native language is not English must be edited for proper spelling, grammar, and syntax by a professional editor or colleague who is a native English speaker.


The  manuscript  should  include:  


Title  page, Abstract, Introduction, Material & Methods, Results, Discussion, In Conclusion,Acknowledgment,Author’s Contribution,  Conflict of interest and References.


 


Research Articles:


Title Page:


The title should be brief and meaningful. Following the title, there be a listing of first and last names of all authors, along with highest academic or medical degree and affiliations. Authorship should be limited to direct participants (technical assistance can be acknowledged as a footnote).A separate paragraph should identify where the work has done, if supported by a grant or otherwise, and the meeting, if any, at which the material was presented. List the complete name, address, telephone and Fax number, and e-mail address for the corresponding author.


Abstract:


A structured abstract of no more than 250 words  should  be  provided  on  a  separate  page  and should be factual, presenting (the reason for the study) Objectives, Materials & Methods, Results and Conclusion and followed by 3-5 keywords. Keywords  will  assist  indexers  in  cross  indexing  the article as they are published with abstract. Use terms from the Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) list of index medicus (http://www.nlm.nih.org.gov/mesh/MBrowser. html). Authors need to be careful that the abstract reflects


the content of the article accurately.


Text:


The text of the article should have the following sequence: Introduction, Materials (or subjects) and methods, Results, Discussion, and References; it should be  followed  the  usual  format  for  scientific articles. Manuscript pages should be numbered consecutively. Avoid use of all abbreviations unless the abbreviation itself (e.g., DNA) will be more familiar to readers than the words it replaces. Only generic names of drugs should be used.




Introduction:


This should be a brief review of the literature presented in the article.


This should summarize the purpose and the rationale for the study. It should neither review the subject extensively nor should it have data or conclusions of the study.


 Material & Methods:


should be written in such a way that other investigators can duplicate them easily and in detail. This should include the exact method or observation or experiment. If an apparatus is used, its manufacturer’s name and address should be given in parenthesis. If the method is established, give reference but if the method is new, give enough information so that another author is able to perform it. If a drug is used, its generic name, dose and route of administration must be given. Statistical method must be mentioned and specify any general computer program used. The info system used should be clearly mentioned.


 Results:


must be written in detail to allow a complete analysis. Long articles may need sub-headings within some sections (specially the results and Discussion part) to clarify their contents.


 Discussion:


should be pertinent to the result but not too repetitive. This should emphasized the present findings and the variations or similarities with other work done in the field by other workers. The detailed data should not be repeated in the discussion again. Emphasize the new and important aspects of the study and the conclusions that follow them. It must be mentioned whether the hypothesis mentioned in the article is true, false or no conclusion can be derived.


 Acknowledgment:


All contributors who do not meet the criteria for authorship should be covered in acknowledgment section. It should include persons who provide technical help, writing assistance and departmental head who only provided general support. Financial and material support should also be acknowledged.


use this section to acknowledge contributions from non-authors and list funding sources. If this work was enabled due to contributions of a core facility or shared resource at your institution, we encourage you to acknowledge those contributions as well. As this section contains important information and many funding bodies require inclusion of grant numbers and ethical code here, please check it carefully.


 Interesting Case reports will be considered; they should be brief and consist of only relevant matters. Such papers must be in the following sequence: Abstract, Introduction, case report, discussion, and references.


Review articles are accepted from authoritative person with experience(about more than 10 years) in the field being presented. This section should be informative, presenting  the  most  recent  advances  and  exhaustive coverage of what could easily be found in textbooks. In the review article, the abstract does not need to be structured. The journal will only consider unsolicited review articles from authors with substantial research background in the subject.


 Tables:


There should be up to 6 tables, laid out as simply as possible and should not be a repetition of information already mentioned in the text. Each should be on a separate glossy sheet of paper and numbered. Do not submit tables as photograph. Place explanatory matters in footnotes, not In the heading. Tables should be numbered consecutively corresponding to in-text citation. Also each table should be prepared in MSWord on a separate page and preferably should be no longer than a single page. Include a brief descriptive title of the table. All tables must be referred to specifically in the text and numbered in order of appearance in the text.


Illustration:


Photographs should be submitted in glossy prints no longer than 17 by 11 cm and name(s) of authors must be written and the top indicated on the reverse side of all illustrations in pencil. Patients should not be recognizable in the illustration unless written consent is supplied with the manuscript. Legends are to be typed double-spaced on a separate sheet of paper and the references to illustrations must be indicated in the text.


Figures: care must be given to preparation of figures, including legends and explanatory titles. Technical excellence is important. Photographs should be submitted as electronic files, saved in the. tiff or. jpg formats. Black and white or gray scale figures (photograph, image, or line drawing)are preferred and the resolution should be high quality for printing (not screen resolution).Each figure should have a minimum width of 2100 pixels (3.5 inches or 9 cm at 600 dpi).All lettering or arrows must be clear, and internal scale markers should appear on electron photomicrographs. Recognizable photographs of patients must be accompanied by written permission for publication. Written permission must be included from both the author and the publisher to reproduce any previously published illustration. Figure legends should  be  type  written  double-spaced  and  grouped on  a  separate  page,  with  numbers  corresponding  to those on the figure files themselves. All figures must be referred to specifically in the text and numbered in order of appearance in the text. Abbreviations appearing in illustrations must be identified in the legend. Graphs should be submitted as figure files and should be finished drawing, not requiring further artwork. Line drawing can be prepared as PowerPoint, MSWord, or Adobe Illustrator files without embedded images from other sources.



 


References:


At least thirty references from journals must be cited in the text in numerically consecutive order and conform to the Index Medicus style, i.e., last name, initials, title of the paper, name of the journal, volume number, pages (first and last page numbers), and copying date. All references should be after 2000 years, old references should be used only in special situation


It may not be possible for the editor and reviewers to check the accuracy of all reference citations. To minimize such errors author should verify references against the original documents.


A photocopy of the first page of each article referenced should be sent with the manuscript.


In the reference section the following guidelines must be followed:


Six first authors to be given; then co authors can be listed; following this the title, running title of journal, year of publication, issue number, and related pages, i.e. first and last pages(e.g.1-below), are to be given.

Article Processing Charge:


Manuscript publishing in this journal is free of charge. Since a manuscript has been accepted and it needs the English editing, the corresponding author should pay the editing fee to Editor of our journal for this processing . Articles which have native Speakers Authors  and approved by Iranian Journal of Child Neurology Office for publishing, do not need this payment. 


Manuscript will be rejected if journal format is not considered. And there is not any chance to change your manuscript when you press OK bottom in the final stage of submitting.


Fast-Track Peer review and research publishing option and how to choose it?


Authors sometimes have to meet publication deadlines such as funding policy limitations, graduation time limits, grant proposals, etc. They need urgent articles published in International Journal. To facilitate this situation, IJCN offers “Fast Track Peer Review and Research Publishing option”. IJCN Journal guarantees that such urgent and Rapid Journal Publication will not compromise quality. Also, there is absolutely no difference in the acceptance/ rejection rate when authors have selected rapid review and Fast Publishing.


Authors can opt for this option by selecting the icon of Fast Track peer review option in the submission process of the paper. Therefore, the   considers this manuscript for fast publication. The request is usually answered within 3-5 working days by choosing the author’s paper under this fast track or rejecting the request for Rapid Journal Publication process. After choosing the paper for publication process; Authors should pay an extra fee for completing their fast-track peer review process and publication


Important for authors:


As authors can expect; we can accept a very limited number of papers under fast-track peer review; this limitation is due to reviewer’s ability to review papers within the given time limit for fast publication track.


If the final paper is accepted, your paper will be published in the next issue after acceptance and fast-track payment.


We DO NOT refund or credit the fast-track fee if the author withdraws the submission after acceptance.


Proof  Reading:


Proofreading means carefully checking for errors in a text before it is published or shared. It is the very last stage of the writing process, when you fix minor spelling and punctuation mistakes, typos, formatting issues and inconsistencies.


As authors already had a final opportunity during copyediting to make corrections to the name/initials and affiliation, more substantial changes should not be made at this stage, especially adding another name or changing the order of authors and corresponding author.


Abbreviations  and  symbols:


Use  only  standard obbreviations. Avoid using them in the title and abstract. The full term for which an abbreviation stands should be proceed its first use in the text unless it is standard unit if measurement.

Declaring a competing interest will not lead to automatic rejection of the paper, but we would like to be made aware of it. Peer review process:


All manuscripts are considered to be confidential. They are peer reviewed by at least 3 anonymous reviewers selected by the ethical Board. The corresponding author is notified as soon as possible of the editor decision to accept, reject, or require modifications. If the manuscript is completely acceptable according to the criteria set forth In these instructions, it is scheduled for the next available issue.


Authors are notified when a manuscript are received. Then each article is considered and goes through a careful review process by the Editorial board, whose final decision concerning the acceptance of a article will be forwarded to the first author as rapidly as  possible. Accepted  article  will  undergo  thorough editing by the Editorial Consultant who reserves the right to make any changes or deletion necessary in order to make the paper suitable for publication. All editing changes can be checked and confirmed by the author in the galley proof, sent to the corresponding author prior to publication, within the 48- hour deadline.
