About the Journal

The Journal of Dental School (JDS) was established in 1967 by Professor Aliakbar Bahraman with the goal of sharing Iranian dental research with the global community. After a brief hiatus following the Islamic Revolution of Iran, JDS resumed in 1984, quickly becoming a leading national publication. In 2012, the journal transitioned from Persian to English to reach a broader international audience and has been an exclusively online publication since 2013.

Published quarterly by Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, JDS is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal that focuses on advancing dental sciences. It publishes original research, case reports, case series, and systematic reviews in areas such as clinical dentistry, oral medicine, dental materials, orthodontics, implantology, public health, and innovations in dental sciences (Aims and Scope). Through its rigorous double-blind peer-review process, JDS fosters global collaboration, supports scientific innovation, and maintains high academic and ethical standards.
